Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Ride Vehicles First Look-Video

Last month at Disney’s 2019 D23 Expo, it was revealed that Epcot’s new Marvel-themed coaster would be called “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, now Disney has released a first look at the ride vehicles.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot will feature the first-ever backwards launch for a Disney roller coaster! This thrilling, family-friendly attraction will feature a never-before-seen storytelling coaster that rotates 360 degrees to focus on the action – wherever it may be.

According to Bob Chapek, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will require a ride system and ride vehicles unlike anything guests have experienced before. What guests will encounter can best be described as a one-of-a-kind storytelling coaster that connects the adventure of a storyline with the thrills of a coaster.

“On most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride,” Bob explained. “But on this attraction, each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you. That means instead of whizzing by the action, you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch.”

At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind the adventure will start in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. You’ll be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue. 

There is no exact opening date for Cosmic Rewind as of yet, but it will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021.
