Disney’s Pumpkin Spice Dole Whip & Where To Find It
Fall at the Disney Parks brings in amazing carved pumpkins, Halloween themed decor and lofting scents of pumpkin spice filling the air. Tis the fall season and what better way to commemorate than with a delicious pumpkin spice Dole Whip at one of the Disney resorts. Sounds great doesn’t it? So, where do you find it?
The Pumpkin Spice Dole Whip comes with a candy corn topping making it an even more over-the-top seasonal treat than it already is. Unfortunately, if you want to grab a bite of this delicious pumpkin spice Dole Whip, you’ll have to travel all the way to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. As of right now, it’s not looking like this festive fall treat is making its way to Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort anytime soon. I know…. I am disappointed too.
How many of you are going to be planning a trip to Hawaii this fall so you can get your hands on some pumpkin spice deliciousness? In Moana terms, “One day I’ll know, how far I’ll go…. for a Dole Whip.” The Pumpkin Spice Dole Whip is only available for a limited time, so best be packing your bags soon!
But, if you can’t make it to Hawaii to try this special fall treat for yourself, you’ll be pleased to know that it’s possible to recreate a similar version at home.
It’s pretty simple to make a pineapple version of Dole Whip that’s just as good as Disney’s at home, so here is the recipe:
Ingredients
- 4 cups of pineapple (cut into chunks and frozen)
- 1 cup low-fat coconut milk
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, dump in frozen pineapple and coconut milk.
- Blend until smooth.
I personally like to add little bits of crushed pineapple on the top and around the sides. That’s how they served it in Hawaii, and it’s incredible.
But, if you’re looking to add pumpkin spice in honor of the fall season, these recipes should come in handy:
This recipe for Pumpkin Spice Frozen Swirl comes from the Dole website and suggests using frozen bananas to give the soft serve texture. Pair them with pumpkin puree and spices, and you’re ready for a delicious dessert! Here is the recipe-
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 frozen DOLE® Bananas
- 4 (1-1/2 inch) gingersnap cookies, made with cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons chopped toasted hazelnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped crystallized ginger
DIRECTIONS
- STIR together pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and ginger. Put in a container and freeze, about 2 hours.
- REMOVE bananas from the freezer and set aside to slightly soften, about 15 minutes.
- ROLL gingersnaps between 2 pieces parchment paper with rolling pin. Combine crumbs with hazelnuts and crystallized ginger. Set aside.
- BREAK the bananas in half and cut the frozen pumpkin mixture into thirds. Alternate pressing the banana and pumpkin mixture together through the Yonanas® machine.
- DIVIDE the “ice cream” between 4 small serving cups. Divide the gingersnap mixture evenly between the 4 serving cups (about 1 ½ tablespoons each), swirling it into the “ice cream”.
TIP: Frozen bananas and pumpkin mixture may be processed in a food processor or blender until soft and creamy.
