Spaceship Earth Closing May 26th For Reimagining: New Concept Art And Info

Disney has announced that Epcot's beloved Spaceship Earth will officially begin the reimagining process on May 26th. Accompanied by the announcement is new concept art of what we can expect the reimagined attraction to look like. ****This means that starting May 26th, Spaceship Earth will be closing to guests until a date that has yet to be announced.**** However Disney did provide share us with more exciting information about the changes being made to the attraction. “You’ll visit Egypt, which is part of the current version of the attraction, but it will be an Egypt like you’ve never seen before, transformed through the power of light,” the Disney Parks blog shared. “Throughout the attraction, you’ll hear new narration and see how light plays a central role in our shared human journey, coming to life in dynamic ways in a celebration of the magic that’s possible when we all come together.” Epcot is currently undergoing many changes that were announced during the D23 Expo last year. Spaceship Earth’s reimagining comes amidst a new nighttime spectacular debuting later this year, as well as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opening this summer. What are your thoughts? Effective Immediately, Bob Iger Steps Down As Disney CEO

Disney shocked everyone with their announcement Tuesday of their lovable Disney CEO Bob Iger stepping down from his role and becoming executive chairman through 2021, effective immediately. Bob Iger will step down as Disney CEO and assume the role of Bob Chapek, whom has served the role of executive chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. Chapek will continue to report to Iger and be appointed to the board of directors at a later date. People took to twitter with some strong opinions. Many people were particularly shocked at the suddenness of the announcement, though others were quick to point out that Iger has been talking about his retirement for quite a few years now.
