Build-A-Band MagicBand Upgrades Now Available on My Disney Experience -Photos

All Disney Resort hotel guests, including new and renewing Annual Passholders now have the option to upgrade, at a discounted price, from a complimentary solid-color MagicBand to one of more than 30 new MagicBand options featuring favorite Disney characters and designs.

These new MagicBand options will be available for pre-arrival purchase at a special price of $14.99 off retail cost through the My Disney Experience website.

So, we decided to login on My Disney Experience App and see how the whole new Build-a-Band process worked on the day of its big debut:

The whole process is fairly straightforward and pretty easy, however, there is some glitching, but it’s new so be patient. You log on to your Disney account, head to My Disney Experience, and select “My MagicBands and Cards” from the menu, which redirects to a homepage listing all your existing MagicBands.

From there, you will be prompted to choose a MagicBand. Be patient with the site as many are reporting numerous glitches.

A few refreshes and it gave me the page, fully functional with a gallery of bands to browse through. Filters are available by Theme, Color, and Price (complimentary solid-color bands vs. discounted themed bands.)

They are categorized by Theme: Mickey and Friends, Disney Princesses, Frozen, Disney Villains, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures, and Disney Parks.

When you click or hover over an existing band design, it gives you the special pre-order price.

Again, be wary of the glitches and be patient as you choose your bands. You will then be prompted to personalize your band with a specific name as is usual for MagicBand orders.
