Incredible Update To Epcot's Living With The Land! One of the few opening day attractions left at Epcot has received a small update. Living with the Land, the gentle boat ride through greenhouses at Epcot’s The Land pavilion, is now sporting updated video in the theater section in the early portion of the ride. The voiceover has also been changed with some slight alterations to the previous script. The combination dark ride/greenhouse tour opened with Epcot on Oct. 1, 1982 under the name Listen to the Land. Little changed when the name was switched to Living with the Land in 1993 beyond updating the ride’s first scene from the original “Symphony of the Seed” to the current storm scene. It’s been a fan favorite ever since and has been serving guests the crops grown throughout The Land and Walt Disney World restaurants ever since. Character Experiences Coming To Select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels For Limited-Time Many guests love going to the Disney parks just to meet their favorite characters, and even enjoy meeting them while they dine, but now, there will be more ways to enjoy character experiences. If you are staying at a select Walt Disney World resort hotel, you may find some Disney characters ready to make some magical moments. Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Minnie, Tigger, Pooh, Mary Poppins, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale are the characters guests may find at select Walt Disney World hotels for a limited-time. These new limited-time character experiences will allow guests to directly interact with characters in an informal setting. These experiences will range from playing corn hole to lounging at the pool, and more! Walt Disney World Resort Will Serve As Official Host Of 2022 Special Olympics USA Games On Thursday August 9, 2019, Walt Disney World announced that they will serve as the official host of the 2022 Special Olympic USA Games, which will take place at ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex! These games will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics in Florida. An event of this scale happens because of thousands of dedicated volunteers who are passionate supporters and super fans, which is why Disney is also proud to be the Presenting Partner of the 2022 USA Games Volunteer Program. In 2016, the Walt Disney World's ESPN facilities hosted the Invictus Games for injured military veterans and active duty personnel from around the glob.
