The Survivalist’s Guide to Walt Disney World

You’ve talked to your travel agent, read the guide books, and now you believe that you are ready to experience a family vacation to Disney World with your family. However, for many tourists, this vacation taken the first, second, and even the third time, can lead to an intense sensory overload, not to mention too many dehydrating days in the sun, leading one to believe that they missed a lot of what this wonderful area had to offer. As a Floridian, whose family has worked at Disney throughout the years, maps of all four of Disney’s theme parks are forever burned into my memory as are some great survival tips that you and your family might be interested in. Planning the vacation First and foremost, decide as a family what is most important for you all to see. This will vary with the age of your children and your different interests. Disney World Summer Vacation: Beat the Heat and Have Fun

Are you planning a fun-filled Walt Disney World summer vacation but need some tips on how to deal with the hot weather? Here are some tips to get you cooler, keep you safe, and have fun: Get up and going early with a surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon with the Cocoa Beach Surfing School. You can surf in the wave pool before the park opens every weekday (except Wednesdays). Visit one of Disney World's water parks and just spend all day splashing around. You can go to Typhoon Lagoon where you can ride some of the tallest 'man-made' waves on earth, or you can try your luck at Blizzard Beach with its exciting, rushing water and water slides fit for a true daredevil. Are you planning a Disney World vacation but need to get an idea of what the weather will be like when you go? Be prepared for what Mother Nature might throw at you. In this article, you'll have handy the average daily low and high temperatures (Fahrenheit), average daily humidity percentage, and the typical number of rainy days for each month of the year. In January, the average low is 50 degrees and the average high is 72. The humidity average falls at 72.5%, and the number of rainy days this month typically gets is 6. For February, the average low and high is 51 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. The daily humidity averages at 70.5% and February gets approximately 7 days of rain. In the month of March, the average daily low will hit 56 degrees and the high will hit 79. The daily humidity average is relatively low for Disney World/Orland -- 69.5%. The number of rainy March days is 8. As for April, you'll be asleep in 60 degree temperature, and you'll find yourself engaging in activities with 79 degree weather outside.
