Shop Disney Parks App will be retired the end of May 2019

Only a few years ago, the Shop Disney Parks app was introduced to make it easier for guests to order and locate merchandise in Disney Parks. Now, Guests are going to have to use other methods for all their shopping needs as the app is going to be retired at the end of this month. Disney has announced that the Shop Disney Parks app will officially retire and no longer be functioning as of May 31, 2019. Guests are being directed to ShopDisney for all of their Disney merchandise needs which does include some stuff from the parks. Guests can download the ShopDisney app or even go to the website www.shopdisney.com online to find the merchandise they are looking for. For locating merchandise while at the Disney Parks, guests can find that function on the My Disney Experience app. Using My Disney Experience App to shop, Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members will be able to apply their merchandise discounts. With all of anticipation and excitement for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it can be hard to keep up with all of the information being released. Luckily, we’ve put together a guide detailing everything we know about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge No standby line will be available to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23. Only guests with reservations will be able to access the land during this time.* However, after June 23, reservations will no longer be required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Boarding Pass System starting June 24th and Beyond Beginning June 24, 2019, guests will have the opportunity to visit Galaxy’s Edge via a virtual line. This way, guests can enjoy the rest of the Resort while waiting to visit Batuu. Guests may enter the virtual queue once they are inside Disneyland Park. Walt Disney Company Reaches Deal With Comcast in Hulu Streaming Service

The Walt Disney Company will debut it's own streaming company, later this year called Disney+. This new Disney Streaming will have an enormous library. Now, there is even more streaming news regarding the Walt Disney Company as they have come to a deal with Comcast to acquire full operational control of Hulu. Comcast has agreed to sell its stake in Hulu to The Walt Disney Company in five years. They had the option of selling it at a value of $27.5 billion or whatever Hulu is appraised to be worth in five years. Disney has guaranteed Comcast a sale price that represents a minimum total equity value of that $27.5 billion. In the details of the deal, Disney will pay Comcast for its Hulu content for the next five years. NBC is going to be able to run its same content on its own streaming platform which will launch sometime later this year. On Hulu, the NBC channels will be available at a higher rate than was previously agreed upon. Hulu bought back a 9.5% stake from AT&T last month in a deal that valued the company at $15 billion. Disney and Comcast had agreed to fund that purchase in accordance with their two thirds to one-third ownership.
