Disney Christmas 2019 Details Revealed For Tokyo Disneyland

There’s a great holiday spirit around Christmas-time in Japan; although the holiday itself has a largely different meaning in Japan than in Western countries, the parks and guests celebrate similarly to the US Parks in terms of Christmas offerings. Disney Christmas in Tokyo Disneyland will be making it’s annual return this year from November 9th to December 25th!

Entertainment-

Like all seasonal offerings in the Japan parks, Christmas Fantasy’s special entertainment is included in regular park admission. At ~$60 for a 1-day Tokyo Disneyland ticket, a full day at Tokyo Disneyland including regular attractions and Christmas entertainment.

This year will mark the fifth year of the Disney Christmas stories parade! This parade is themed around the ideas of spending the holidays with loved ones and the stories that come with them. Leading the parade is a float featuring a family-style Christmas with Donald Duck dressed up as Santa Claus, joined by Daisy Duck and his nephews. Another float features Mickey and Minnie sharing the holidays with their friends. The parade stops in Westernland and the central plaza, when bells start to ring for the start of a Christmas party! After the show stop, snow falls all along the parade route, and Guests are left with the spirit of Christmas!

During the Holiday season, Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights will be decked out in festive decor on almost every unit! In addition, the classic soundtrack is infused with several Christmas songs throughout the parade.

There are plenty of good spots to watch the Disney Christmas Stories and Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade “Dreamlights.” Grab a spot in Westernland, the hub area, or Tomorrowland in front of Tomorrowland Terrace about 30 minutes ahead of time.

Every night (weather permitting), the skies above both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will light up in beautiful Christmas colors with the holiday fireworks show “Starbright Christmas”!

Every night, a special new Christmas projection show will turn World Bazaar in to a holiday wonderland every few minutes!

Attraction Overlays-

Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare is incredibly popular, and a really fun overlay at Tokyo Disneyland. The Haunted Mansion is transformed during the Halloween and Christmas seasons to Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare. Inspired by Tim Burton’s 1993 The Nightmare Before Christmas, the overlay features characters such as Jack Skellington and Sally cavorting among the familiar mansion haunts.  Everything from the outside facade, the signage, the stretch room pre-show, and the entire ride is decked out with Nightmare story that will last from September 9, 2019 to January 5, 2020!

From November 3rd to December 28th, the Country Bears will be going on a Christmas vacation in the annual return of the former Walt Disney World classic “Jingle Bell Jamboree”, or as it was called in the US, “The Country Bear Christmas Special”!

Decorations-

Festive decorations will be in place all over the park, including these lovely dioramas in the plaza!

After taking a hiatus last year due to the Celebration Tower, the grand World Bazaar Christmas tree will be returning to our lovely version of Main Street! This tree is huge! It’s almost 50 feet tall, or about 15 meters.

Here is some of the holiday merchandise for this year-

There will be all kinds of different types of special merchandise with nostalgic designs of Mickey Mouse and the Disney Friends available at both parks.

The Disney Resort Line will offer four types of special day passes, including one specifically themed to Christmas at Tokyo Disneyland.

Food-

Around 15 special food offerings are slated for this holiday season! Creamy seafood served in a cheesy bread bowl, a hot dog with white cheese in a red bun, and other dishes with a holiday touch will be offered! I’m hungry after looking at what’s to come, what about you?
