Disney Skyliner: Everything You Need To Know

On Sunday, September 29, the Disney Skyliner in Walt Disney World Resort officially opened and began operation. This new high-flying gondola system is a cool way to get  around, but there are quite a few people who don’t quite understand just yet how to use the Disney Skyliner, so here is your guide to everything you need to know.

With 300 cabins, five loading stations and 22 character themes, the Skyliner runs 90 feet off the ground and connects four resorts (an additional five are within walking distance) and two theme parks: Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

Disney Skyliner – Are they extremely hot inside?

Many people have wondered if Disney Skyliner cabins were going to be overly hot inside due to the extreme temperatures in Central Florida. Well, the Skyliner cabins don’t have A/C, but they do have a ventilation system which actually works rather well.

The cabin designers, who are from Switzerland, have come up with an air flow system for the cabins that move at 11 miles per hour: Six windows, cracked at an angle, and two floor vents circulate air throughout the cabin.

The temperature inside the cabin is cooler than the temperature outside, it’s like being in the shade.

Operating Hours

Recently the Disney Skyliner has been operating beginning at 5:45 a.m. due to the Extra Extra Magic Hours happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Please pay attention to the hours of operation, as they will change depending on park hours.
