Disney World’s Grand Floridan Resort To Get Walkway To Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort is about to get an extra touch of magic, as this Victorian style deluxe resort is officially getting a walkway that will allow guests to walk from the hotel directly to Magic Kingdom Park.
Disney filed for the permit for the new construction only a week ago on July 5, 2019. The news was revealed via the Site/Facility section of the document, where they stated: “Grand Floridian to MK Walkway.” No other details have been revealed beside the permit listing and Disney has not made an official announcement of it’s future construction.
I know many of us guests would be excited to just be able to walk to the most magical place on earth or to the Grand Floridian Resort Hotel without having to step foot on the monorail. After all, the monorail can get crowded at times.
According to Google Maps, the Victorian Grand Floridian resort sits just a little under a mile from the theme park. And if guests were allowed to walk around the lake and up to the park’s main turnstiles, instead of having to take a monorail or boat, it might save time and might even be quicker.
If you’ve been to the Magic Kingdom Park, then you know that the boats and Monorails have had long wait times at the beginning of the day, The evening during dinner time between 5-6 pm and the end of the day, making the travel time from the resort to the Magic Kingdom Park, quite long. However, with this new walkway, guests would be able to bypass this and walk right to the park.
