MCU Twitter Fans Boycott Sony over Disney and Sony Dispute
Yesterday MCU fans were shocked when Sony had officially split with Kevin Feige and Disney on future “Spider-Man” universe films. So fans took to Twitter to express some of their grief, some fans are even calling for a boycott against Sony. This is the newest hashtag that is going around on Twitter.
The news of Sony ending its long-standing deal with Disney on the “Spider-Man” Films yesterday revealed that both companies could not come to an agreement on the co-financing of the series’ future movies. This has brought a lot of sadness and even some hate to Sony on social media with the hashtags such as #BoycottSony #SaveSpidey and even #SaveSpidermanFromSony.
Here is a look at what some of the fans who’ve begged to get #BoycottSony trending are saying.
Even one Tweeter used the hashtag called for the help of a Marvel Cinematic Universe star to help spread the word online. Twitter user Al Baker asked Chris Evans, who has played the famous “Captain America” in MCU Movies, to lend his star power to this cause.
Hey @ChrisEvans can you help get this trending? #BoycottSony #SaveSpiderMan

Some have even gone as far as asking Sony to reverse their decisions to exit their partnership from Disney and to keep Kevin Feige and the Marvel Studios apart of their web-slinging productions.
Fans have even come off a bit threatening to the Sony movie studio when using the #SaveSpideyFromSony.
oh look, #boycottsony is already trending @SonyPictures please dont make this mistake

Last night, Sony released a statement on the subject revealing their “disappoingment” over the fallout with Disney and Kevin Feige. In this statement the cause of the split was to be Kevin Fiege’s recent additions of projects, which they say would keep the Marvel Studios Presidents to busy. However, other sources have claimed it to mostly be caused by the money.
As was previously reported, the two companies deal over the web-slinging super hero went south after Disney wanted to switch their current financial dealings of the character to a 50/50 co-financing arrangement between the studios. Unfortunately Sony didn’t like that idea and wanted to stay with their past deals where Marvel receives only 5% of the first dollar gross.
What are your thoughts on Sony pulling out of the deal with Disney?
