Snow White Makes Magic Happen For Young Autistic Boy

A young boy with Autism visiting the Happiest Place On Earth from New Jersey, was having a meltdown when he became overwhelmed and overstimulated by crowds, loud noises and the heat, experienced a very special “magical moment” with Snow White.

Lauren Bergner from New Jersey, spent months preparing her 6-year-old son Brody for a trip to Walt Disney World. Her son Brody has autism and communicating with him about change before it happens helps him adjust more easily.

Brody’s Autism makes him susceptible to meltdowns when he becomes overwhelmed or overstimulated by crowds, loud noises, the heat, and other “triggers” that cause him distress. Being in Disney, is hard to help your child anticipate the schedule and sometimes things can go awry.

Bergner knew a storm was brewing on Sunday, while Brody was waiting to meet Snow White at Epcot Theme Park. It was hot, even by Florida standards. Brody had spent the day hopping from ride to ride with his brothers Billy, 14, and Jake, 9, and he was just done.

“Brody was overheated, sweating and overwhelmed by everything,” Bergner said. “He just started crying.”But, Snow White knew exactly what to do to soothe the boy, who is nonverbal.

“She kissed, hugged and cuddled him,” Bergner wrote in a Facebook post that has gone viral with 69,000 shares! “She then took him for a walk away from the crowd! She was amazing.”

The thoughtfulness, kindness, going above and beyond that Cast Members like Snow White create for guests just blows our minds. They are the unbelievable acts of kindness that surprise us, delight us and keep us coming back to create new memories.
