Thank You Disney Cast Members, Thank You For Everything You Do!
All the news you have been hearing about Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California and Disneyland Paris in France are all closing with the rest of the parks around the world. This means that Today, March 16, every single Disney Resort and Theme Park around the World, including Shanghai Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland will be closed for the first time ever!
For all of us Disney fans, It feels like it is a bad dream, hearing the news of ALL Disney park shuts downs, even reporting them…. I am in as much shock as you are. As we go about our daily lives, my heart is left sitting just outside the gates of Happiest Places on Earth waiting for one very special Mouse to let us back in.
Walt Disney once said, “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the World. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” Of all the Disney quotes out there, this is my favorite one, this one is the most poignant and the most significant to me.
A day at the Disney theme parks is nothing without all of the outstanding Cast Members that bring the MAGIC to life everyday for all of us guests. Every smiling face, every wave of the their hands, every smile, from the cashier at the emporium, to the waitress at Dinner, to the Disney Princess, the photopass photographer, to the custodians, to the ride attendants they are always doing their best to make our day at the parks extra special.
While we are enjoying the Disney Parks, thousands of Cast Members everyday spend time away from their families so we can all have an unforgettable, most magical time. Some of us, me included have dreamed of one day working for Disney, being able to captain a boat, or seeing the many guests enter the Most Magical Place on Earth as you wave that proud gloved white Mickey hand, or stood in awe down Main Street U.S.A with a big smile on your face because you are part of the Magic that lives within the Disney theme parks. While being a Cast Member can be no doubt a satisfying and rewarding career, it can also be thankless. Think of the Cast Members who have the less prolific positions who play as just an integral role in our happiness as some that are more prolific, these Cast Members can be custodial staff, to food and beverage to the parking attendants.
I’m so thankful for all the unsung Cast Members, I couldn’t do what they do. I’ve seen down right irate guests who berate Cast Members for attractions being down, or for parade viewing spots unavailable and for many other instances outside of the individual Cast Members control. I’ve seen guests who are down right ignorant and think that they are entitled because they spend so much dollars of their trip bear down on these Cast Members, but surprisingly their meltdowns are met with patience, helpfulness and restraint.
I posted what the bleachers looked like after watching Fantasmic! one night, it was littered with boxes, plastic bottles, paper cups, food spilling out of containers, etc. I was downright disgusted at the site, to see how lazy we as guests have become, because we feel we are entitled and we don’t realize who cleans up after us. It is those unsung Cast Members who work super hard to bring us the Magic we are desire.
I just want to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you Cast Members for working everyday making making magic. The Parks would be what they are without your hard work and dedication.
I encourage all of my readers, to say thank you to at least one Cast Member a day during your trip to one of the many Disney theme parks.
So on behalf of Daily Disney News, Thank You So Much Disney Cast Members …..We love you, We appreciate you and We hope to See You Real Soon.
